Ventura County International Film Festival A Global Movie Event

The Ventura Film Festival proudly holds the distinction of being "the most extensive film festival in Ventura County's history." This remarkable achievement reflects the organization's mission of providing outstanding film programming to the region while continuing its mission toward vital ecological concerns.

The Ventura Film Festival exists as an all-inclusive international cinema festival that promotes recognition of environmental issues such as terrestrial and aquatic preservation and renewal, through an annual film festival and complementary events. The event harnesses the influence of film to stimulate involvement and create meaningful dialogue around these critical conservation concerns.

The Ventura Film Festival was founded in 2004 and has screened hundreds of films, generally exceeding 200 films per summer season, and has generated excitement within the global cinema community. Since its founding, the festival has expanded into a substantial cultural happening that joins cinema creators, conservation supporters, and viewers from around the world.

Distinguished events have encompassed presenting celebrated filmmaker Dylan O'Neil, the original world champion surfers Peter "PT" Townend together with Ian Cairns, four-time world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/mixed martial arts fighter combat sports star Fabio Leopoldo, and the half-century commemoration of West Side Story, which encompassed presenting the complete Oscar-winning ensemble of West Side Story, including Academy Award winner/Golden Globe winner George Chakiris as well as Golden Globe winner/Oscar-nominated Russ Tamblyn. These exceptional personalities and celebrations have solidified the festival's reputation as a leading location for commemorating movies and the professionals who develop it.

The founder and executive director of the Ventura Film Festival was selected to take part, along check here with several of Hollywood's premier talents, in the half-century commemoration of West Side Story and Hollywood's iconic footprint/handprint ceremony celebrating Oscar honorees Rita Moreno, George Chakiris, and legendary actor Golden Globe award winner Russ Tamblyn at the iconic Chinese Theater in Hollywood. This celebration also functioned as the official BluRay premiere by Fox and MGM of the iconic West Side Story, which is universally acknowledged by critics and fans as the finest musical of all time. This prestigious recognition and participation highlights the festival's meaningful presence and honored place within the Hollywood community.
